My, what large herbivorous teeth you have. Just the thing for munching on melons in the Garden of Eden.

*sigh* Not all of us creationists believe that.
Reality Lord - September 20, 2010, 1:04 am,
the captions found in my poster do not necessarily reflect my personal beliefs. its just humor. ( can you see me s****** up to get a 5L from god boy there?)
Ed-Hyde - September 20, 2010, 7:21 am,
Good s****** up. I'll just refrain from voting, since I normally 1 bomb anti-religious posters. Modern creationists don't find evolution and creationism to be that far apart.
matt28 - September 20, 2010, 5:03 pm,
Just out of curiosity - and this is not meant to be a baited question - can someone explain the difference between 'modern' creationists and the other kind? Because every creationist I've known has been a full-bore "dinos on the Ark"-type creationist.
Anonymous2 - September 21, 2010, 12:29 pm,
Okay, matt28, I'll try. "Modern" creationists observe that if the Creator could create time & space, said Creator would be observing time from outside, not inside space-time. So from the origin, space continually expands.
Anonymous2 - September 21, 2010, 12:31 pm,
Now, taking into account that with an ever-expanding universe, viewing time from outside, it's exponential. Factoring in the growth, 6 observed days outside time relates to about 15-20 billion years inside time.
Anonymous2 - September 21, 2010, 12:33 pm,
Older creationists didn't have the mathematical formulas necessary, so they took the chapters in Genesis as literal 6 days, when several other places time is symbolic (day is as a thousand years and thousand year as a day, y'know).
matt28 - September 22, 2010, 6:38 pm,
But all that covers is the debate of the age of the universe... So are the old views on evolution or a literal reading of Noah's Flood still kept?
Anonymous2 - September 23, 2010, 1:24 am,
Yes and no. Literal reading of Noah's flood is still kept, but since Abraham & Sarah were leaving Ur of the Chaldeans around the time of Hammurabi, and Abraham was several generations away from Noah, a prehistoric flood isn't out of the question.
Anonymous2 - September 23, 2010, 1:27 am,
As to the old views on evolution, that's where some break away and some don't. Some argue that the Creator left in place ways for species to change over time including evolution, while some say what scientists are calling evolution is just genetic drift.
Anonymous2 - September 23, 2010, 1:29 am,
Since there aren't living relics, some say that species have just changed slowly over time, since there haven't been full skeletons found that explain evolution, and others say that evolution worked, and then God came in during it and gave humans souls.
Anonymous2 - September 23, 2010, 1:31 am,
That would, to some extent, explain the Cain/Land of Nod quandry in Genesis, after Abel's murder.
Anonymous2 - September 23, 2010, 1:33 am,
BTW, sorry to Reality Lord for hijacking his mot over this discussion that could probably still go on several messages and not fully cover every aspect of the variation in creations theories.

Feel free to PM me then if you want to carry on this topic and not have the mods skin both of our hides.
