LOL~~I remember my big brother on the roof, turning the TV antenna while my dad screamed directions out the living room window. That was considerably later than 1952. I don't think we had a remote-controlled TV until the 1960's.

The first remote control I can remember had a cord from it to the set and had dials on it. All it would do was change the channel. Us kids still had to go adjust the sound~~and my brother still had to go up on the roof.
