No secret at all, JW. I use a wonderful little program out of the UK, by Serif. Page Plus 7. I think they're up to 8 or 9, now. Anyway, you can occasionally pick it up really cheap. Like 40 bucks. If they send me an offer, I will let you know.

Not happy with this poster. I should have made it larger so the text was more readable. Oh well.

All submissions get resized to 640px wide, height resizes proportionally to that. Why I prefer to work tall, rather than wide. Still a nice poster.

Yeah, Silver, I know. Could have done it differently. Used a portion of the original pic to make the background. Should probably have ditched that, too, for sake of the text.

Using piece of the original pic as a background is a pretty neat idea. I might borrow (steal) that.

Just be sure it's a high res ph**o, otherwise it just grains out when you stretch it to fill the space.

Grainy can be artistic. I've done some stuff with filters, giving embossed or mosaic look. Might have to play around some more. I gotta earn me some 1Ls!

Ummm...Am I the only one who uses the vanilla creation tool on here?
lgvernon - January 16, 2016, 11:57 pm,
I use it from time to time, Steve. I enjoy 3-D and bevel/shading manipulation, which can't be done with the creator.

LOL! 5L for the gawdawful pun! LUUUUV IT! -1 background too textured/noisy made it hard to read 4L IgV! Its really funny!!
lgvernon - January 16, 2016, 10:15 pm,
I agree absolutely about the background. I should have used a smaller chunk of the original picture so when I stretched it, the texture would have softened more.

We all have our biffs. A lot of times the silly thing turn out a lot different on the feed than they do before submitted. That loooong deer poster was just vertical---SURPRISE!!!! LOL!
