No, we were too busy liberating the rest of Europe from the a**holes in Berlin. Sorry we missed that one. Stop your whining, without Americans you'd all be speaking Russian or German, or even Pharsie.

THeDRiZZLe - November 14, 2008, 1:40 pm,
OK, time for a quick histroy lesson everyone. The Allies agreed to let the Russians take Berlin. The western Allies could ahve made a run for it too, but Stalin wanted it. The war betwen Germany and Russia was personal. Talking trash over this is tard

.... - January 14, 2009, 9:48 pm,
Canadians didn't do **** in the war. Plus canadians are exactly the f***ing same as the US anyway. It's practically the same country, really it is.
Motifake Wit Liberation Front - January 15, 2009, 1:09 am,
Have you been to Canada? Everyone really is nice, and that stuff they call 'bacon'? That's not the USA!! Our bacon is smoked and long and stripey, not unsm, oked and...oh god... circular. *sob*
Learn History - April 1, 2009, 10:21 am,
80% of the German casualties were on the Eastern Front against the Soviets. They won the European war, the US only helped! In Yalta FDR and Churchill agreed with Stalin that the Red Army would take Berlin, the bloodiest battle in history!
Mark - April 1, 2009, 11:33 am,
I can agree that "80% of the German casualties were on the Eastern Front against the Soviets" but to put that into perspective, the Russians started killing Germans on June 22, 1941. Americans didn't start in earnest until June 6, 1944.
Mark - April 1, 2009, 11:37 am,
As for the Soviets winning the European war, I think it was a team effort. They couldn't have done as well as they did without the US fighting the Germans on the Western front and Italy. Hitler's biggest tactical mistake was Operation Barbarossa.
weker - April 1, 2009, 1:27 pm,
f*** team effort Americans did nothing in the war to help any of the world
Mark - April 1, 2009, 1:27 pm,
weker - You're an idiot, a troll, and a Timmy all rolled into one. STFU and GTFO.
Learn History - April 1, 2009, 5:20 pm,
The US did contribute to the war! True, not until '44 with a major fighting force. But the US pretty much mobilized the Red Army with the Lend Lease program supplying over 250,000 6x6 trucks among other things. The death toll in the east was massive.
Mark - April 1, 2009, 5:31 pm,
Learn History - It's nice to know that some one out there knows how to read a book.
LogicDude - April 2, 2009, 8:53 am,
Correction to all here...the US entered the war in 1942 against the Germans in North Africa and also in the invasion of Siciliy and then mainland Italy and southern France - all before 1944. It was the operations there that kept German troops from...
LogicDude - April 2, 2009, 8:54 am,
...diverting to the Eastern Front and defeating the Russians - which, if they had been able to divert all manpower and resources, the Germans WOULD have done. Stalin begged for these diversions at the conferences with the rest of the Allied leaders.
All American - April 2, 2009, 1:37 pm,
You are right but I think what that other guy was saying was that the Americans really got into it "in earnest" on D-Day.
LogicDude - April 2, 2009, 3:00 pm,
The US suffered 18,000+ casualties on the first day of the invasion of Italy. THAT was a pretty serious meat-grinder. Seems pretty earnest to me.
DjaPavlak - May 29, 2009, 11:10 pm,
We let Russia take it, let them get revenge on the Facist s.o.b's
Cheeseman - June 2, 2009, 4:40 pm,
I have a bookcase of books for the last centuries wars, and iu don't need so say anything cause Logicdude has proved what dumbasses you all are. America was also unofficially helping before 42 with supplies and merchant shipping across the atlantic.
LogicDude - June 2, 2009, 9:19 pm,
Why thank you my "greated" parmesan friend! (for the dummies: I know how to spell "grated"...I changed it to "great" to compliment the Cheesemeister!) bye!
Sean - June 2, 2009, 9:25 pm,
AMERICANS They know the secret to great lovin' and great warrin': it's way better to come late, than to come early.
Sean - June 2, 2009, 9:26 pm,
*grate (I think)
Meh.. - June 14, 2009, 2:57 am,
Eh Americans, then you don't know history, you pull random nonsense out of your a**. As demonstrated by "LogicDude".
Meh... - June 14, 2009, 2:59 am,
While the brits and the yanks were fighting a couple hundred thousand Germans (split between Africa and Italy), USSR fought 4 million. D-Day came too late to make a difference and both Africa and Italy were of marginal importance.
Baron von Tofurkey - June 26, 2009, 3:00 am,
meh: "D Day came too late to make a difference..." thank you for letting me read the stupidest, most ignorant statement in the history of humankind. Truly well done. Oh, and um, one other thing...Italy was of vital f*cking importance, u stupid twat.
Moog - July 17, 2009, 9:58 pm,
Russians: Lend Lease. Learn it. In hindsight we'd have been better off to leave you at the tender mercies of Adolf.
mallen - July 28, 2009, 7:14 pm,
Back to the point of the Poster, Gen. Patton could've been in Berlin long before the Ruskies if he hadn't been ordered to stop. RUssia got Berlin because the rest of the Allies let them. End of debate, now F*** OFF!!!!!
oaktree - February 24, 2010, 10:44 am,
All you people need to read a little more. Eisenhower decided to let the Russians to take Berlin. Because they where fighting German since June of 1941 and they push the German army out of their country.
culos - February 24, 2010, 5:50 pm,
oaktree if you don't know what you're talking about it is better not to comment at all. By the way, your English sucks. In conclusion, leave the Interweb and go back to school. Amen

GeorgiZhukov - September 10, 2010, 1:30 am,
After 30 million people murdered by those worthless animals, they deserved what we gave them. Every last bit of it.
agdaniele - September 10, 2010, 1:42 am,
Cool your jets a little, Georgi... this is an entertainment site... we'd rather not start a movement here.
agdaniele - September 10, 2010, 1:42 am,
Try to keep it light, ok?
oaktree - February 17, 2011, 9:37 pm,
Keep in mind that Russia was just fighting the Germans on on the Eastern frond by ground and air....ok a little in the sea. Mean while, U.S. was fighting the Germans in the west, south, air and sea....oh yea and fighting the Japan.
Dman1965 - July 7, 2012, 10:31 pm,
i could say the yanks joined in after they sold britain and europe all that steal for maximum profit ... but then again many many great american young men died along with all their allied brothers and sisters to help save this world from nazi tyranny
