Republicans. - Ruining the economy one Bush at a time. (But hey, they don't care... They are already swimming in our cash from the federal bank interest!)

With Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton receiving the most contributions from Fannie Mae and with Barney Frank defending their subprime loans while he was sleeping with one of their execs, you have definitely missed the truth, lol.

Not to mention it was ACORN and the Congressional Black Caucus that pressured Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to give home loans to people who can never afford to repay them. The Dems have been successful in blaming Reps for the damage they caused.

In fact, 2 yrs before the collapse last fall, Pres Bush and Sen McCain called on Congress to review their oversight of these companies because they saw what was coming. Dems ignored the warnings and blamed the whole thing on Bush. Check your facts.

Respectfully, WTFO, it is well documented that Bush talked a good game while behind the scenes he did nothing to regulate these companies and in fact, loosened the regulations for them. (is loosened a word?)

I have never claimed that Bush or the Reps did not have a hand in loose regulations of companies. I just point out that the Dems had a large role in deregulating the companies and pushing banks into issuing loans to those who couldn't repay. Both sides of

the aisle had their hands dirty, but the Dems seized power by claiming it was all due to Bush and 'evil' conservatives (they were greatly aided with this lie by the media). Bush and McCain called for regulation in 06 but were ignored by the Dem Congress

so it's everyone's fault, but mostly the dems and the dems are the first to shift blame which adds validity to this obvious fact
Marvin Wankerstein - October 28, 2009, 8:56 pm,
WTFO2 : you are missing one very important FACT. In 2006 Republicans had a majority in Congress with 55 in the Senate and 232 in the House so that can not possibly called a "Dem Congress."

Fair point, MW. Maybe I should check my dates to make sure of the accuracy. Thanks.
