This French vessel... the Georges Leygues... is a submarine killer. Are they now hunting the Flying Dutchman?

But, we already saw the power of the French navy when they sank the Rainbow Warrior in 1985. Nothing says "best navy" like using a combination of helicopters and destroyers to capture four AK47-armed Somalis on a Seadoo.

US Navy: Better at KILLING Pirates than the French Navy...who now have to deal with a trial!

Other than the Calypso I didn't know the French had a Navy

I agree with LogicDude here, a dead pirate is much better than a captured pirate.

Counterpoint: By leaving one alive, you send a message that they can be taken alive. Future pirates will know that it's an option to surrender... and some will be more likely to do so instead of killing all hostages in a hopeless situation.

Alway have to look at all aspects. Me? I'd still kill them... but you have to know that it's not going to help future hostages' chances when the pirates get desperate..

Why catch them when you can snipe them? BTW don't nustle me up with French military. I'm not impressed.

I'm as anti-french as the next Englishman (The next Englishman being Henry V) but you have to respect their skills. DGSE-1: Rainbow Warrior-nil
