You may have noticed there are ads on the site. When people are on a site they see those ads, revenue generated. If they click on an ad & visit that site, more revenue generated. Google does however monitor the links, so NEVER click on an ad on your own site as it raises a red flag. See an ad that interest you? Google search the company & find the site independant of your own site.

You can make money, it is a 50/50 partnership. What you see in your Google adsense account is what you get, and the getting is good to great (depending on the site & how much effort you put into it). I put in 1 to 2 hours a day and the $$ just adds up.

Im still waiting for someone to come up with the blockbuster idea that takes out motifake as the #1 site in the network.
Rerun has several sites and has worked hard, so his work has paid off.

You can either come up with a great idea and work your butt off growing your site and marketing it...
OR.... you can take a real estate approach, and come up with multiple sites, and grow them over time, so combined they make some good money over the long term.
Its WORK though. Some people have started sights, put a good effort in for a month or two and then given up. Bad move.
It can take over a year to get a site going on autopilot. People need to think long term. Where will my site be in 5 years? How about 10?
Imagine getting a paycheck FOREVER every month because you got a site off the ground that got popular. You barely have to do anything anymore, just collect your check every month. Other sites need constant content fed to them. But if your site gets popular, the community generates the content and you are on autopilot.

You also dont have to worry about having an IT department. Doing backups, paying for servers, running databases, doing code updates, etc. The motinetwork handles everything on that side of the equation. Thats what the partnership is about

So, once a blockbuster idea is presented, other than baby sitting and monitoring morality, what’s some of the ‘work’?

I'd guess trying to make sure that you are also submitting stuff and maybe finding cheap advertising for yourself... If you look at a lot of webcomics and the like they run something called "Project Wonderful". Pretty cheap advertising on decently popular comics is available.

Qwantz.com, as an example has a traffic of roughly 8 to 10 thousand visitors from Europe every day.. currently an advert is running there for .1 dollars a day. Assuming 20 percent of the people visiting look at the advert and consider clicking on it 1600 people a day could be looking at your advert for ten cents.

Just a tip for anybody who might be looking for cheap advertisements!

Thanks Jammy, will keep that in mind if I ever come up with a good enough idea and finalize all the bugs in it...

content, content & content. I cannot stress enough just how important it is to have new content. If you look at the headeron any moti site, the 1st icon to the left is usually the newest site. After the "new", it gos by how much new content is generated is a specific time period. The sites on the far right are not making the site owners much money. There are a few sites here that are essentially dead which are potential gold mines.
