South Africans were in World Wars 2 as far as my knowledge goes.

South Africa in it's few hundred years of establishment is and was always a somewhat peaceful country, besides the few Coup d'état and the South African-British struggle. We were, however, far ahead of any other nation in weapon development for quite a few years and for a third world country that makes its own weapons we'll still give other countries of similar size a run for their money.
