Reagan

The politician
Not so revered while in office.
What I recall is him being behind the wage freeze to curb the self-feeding inflation problem we had back then….duh.

The actor
Never saw him in a movie I didn’t hate.
But, he could sure push them Chesterfields.

These two ol’ gals could bring it to the screen.
Hattie McDaniel, mostly known for her role in Gone With the Wind , but had a myriad of wonderful parts. Most of them gave me a hankerin’ for pancakes.

Some may not know Jane Darnell, unless they’ve seen The Grapes of Wrath.
It was like they created a story of my kin and called ‘em the Joads.
Funny thing, they were both in GWTW

I always enjoyed being disgusted at Martin Balsam. He played some great ‘sweaty nervous guy’ roles.
Especially in the first Pelham 123 movie.

He was good in the first Twelve Angry Men too.

One movie, for the life of me I can’t recall the title, but the director showed an extreme close up of Balsam’s mouth as he talked…black and white film…quite artfully revolting.

The bane of character actors:

As versatile and ubiquitous as he was, Mr. Balsam was philosophical on the subject of character actors. He often told a story about a woman who walked up to one of them and said: "Hey, I saw you. You played the detective who does that bit with the piano.'
Mr. Balsam continued: "Then she goes on to describe just about every small piece of action he did in every movie he's been in. Tremendous amount of enthusiasm, smiles, congratulations; she thinks he's great. Finally she asks his name. He tells her, and she says: 'What? I never heard of you,' and walks away. That's the way it is when you play character parts."

Most of them are now "legally protected". You know, taken out of context that sounds really bad.

Raquel Welch is timeless.

Sasha could really improve her portfolio by simply following the lead left by her more mainstream peers.

She needs to shave that nasty bush.

I like Crank... What can I say? and also 'The Mechanic'

Both worth the watch, although there are more 'hollywood special effects' in those than seconds in a year, but still... good movie(s)

Up until those two movies, a car chase or extreme karate move never made me yawn
