Isn't that (it's new form of use) pretty much happened with the word "like" ?

Why not teach people to use 'Like' instead of taking a minimal pause between letters?

Why not remove all spelling and Grammar rules and allow 'u' to become the new version of 'You'?

Why not just use 'Their' as you please even if it is not even in the correct usage?

Why not teach phonetic spelling instead of true spelling?

That's my point, language permanently changes and as long as the change isn't detrimental to understanding (as in the there/their/they're and your/you're cases) I say we should allow it to happen.

I can still see the merits in restrained change though, don't want things to change too much do we?

wut r u talkn bout?
dat getz dun all da tyme alreddy.

Compared to when I was in school, if we were presented the above text, most would have had a hard time understanding it.
Today, so many abbreviations and acronyms get used, (especially on twitter and such where text space is very limited per message)
that most people understand it, even if it looks very odd.

For example, what does IMHO stand for... I could look it up on Google but that ruins the fun of a surprise, does it not...?

Maybe not... And IRL...? Why not just ask questions for the sake of it up until a certain degree of annoyance...?

IRL stands for "In Real Life"... you didn't pick up on that after the last answer?
