Before I die I want to hug a sloth
I know about people who talk about suffering for the common good. It's never bloody them! When you hear a man shouting "Forward, brave comrades!" you'll see he's the one behind the bloody big rock and the one wearing the only really arrow-proof helmet

Before I die I want to streak across the field of a major sporting event.

Before I die I want to pass on the knowlege that they best way to carry out fantasies like this are best carefully planned:

1. Have an entrance & escape planned prior to execution
2. A knitted ski-mask tied closed below the chin is a good idea
3. Generous slathering of Vaseline all over to prevent the grabbing by others
4. Coat both palms of your hands with Pine Tar (or some other similar gripping agent) to aid in your grabbing.
5. Try not to get too 'excited' - it detracts from the funny

Following these simple steps will aid in your success; it did back in the 70's inside a large military PX (shopping mall)...

Hmmm, before I die, before I die…..man, I’m comin’ up dry on this one.

Get something?

Getting ‘things’…..lawdy, they’re all trappings.
Worries occur.
Storage, insurance, large vehicles to haul it all, depreciation, and just maintenance all become issues.
Naw, that’s an upside down form of slavery.

Go somewhere?

Been there enough.

Do something?

There are things I’d like to experience again.

It’s funny, once you experience something for the first time, that fresh event is pretty much over.

So, to say I’d like to experience something again is somewhat of a misnomer.

I’d like to experience a few things again……but for the first time…..with the acute relish and savoring of the knowledge that it doesn’t get any better….during the anticipation, the occurrence, and the quiet moments after.

Like the first time I sat with my mentor and he introduced me to an aged single malt while we had conversation that matched the richness of that beverage.

Or watching my son catch his first fish of size, the delight in his eyes as he kissed that steel head on the mouth….yeah, I’d like to see that again….for the first time.

Or the look on my ladies face after the birth of our son, as the reflection of my happiness echoed from her countenance.

Yeah, things like that.
Not that I’m dissatisfied, or missing something….quite the contrary.

It’s just that those first times are just that, never to be repeated……in the same way….with the same innocence…..but if they could be, well, there are some things that just stand out.

Then again, I just experienced it all….and if I want, I’ll make it the first time.

Oh, one more;

The resurrection of that little nubian lass I met so very long ago. The one with the remarkably callipygian behind, and a waist I could envelop with my hands, the lass that seemed to be attracted to me…yeah, I’d like to have another go at that….the sensation of her pressed so close, such a tiny, vibrant, fresh being, her dusky skin, her natural aroma, her lips so full....but with the knowledge I have now……..wait, I just left her to go to work.....tonight may become a resurrection of sorts.

Hmmm, anticipation for eight hours....I can do this.

Cheers, mates

Only if you enjoy deep disappointment after such a long trip………….

Actually, Axe, that is a mutual request.
I think once I retire and have the main house up, I’m going to send out some invites…..providing our tenure here lasts that long (my retirement is not that far off, but the pace of the net is rather rapid).

Wonder it there is such a thing as a conference skype…

Not to stray too far off this intriguing topic, but it often seems the anticipation of getting, doing, seeing, is much greater than the event itself.
It never fails, during the interview of an individual that just won a championship, the words, ‘it hasn’t hit me yet’ are uttered.
And after the festivites, the parades, the dinners, and the trophy is in the case, they lie in bed, arms behind the head, looking at the ceiling with unseeing eyes, trying to soak it all in, the profound depth of thought goes something like ‘Huh’.

Anticipation, long savored, vision of it all, evaporates after accomplishment, sometimes leaving a bit of emptiness.

Anticipation should not be treated so lightly, with such impatience. It’s often the best of the three.
The hope
The gift of the present
The memory
