but in all seriousness it was clearly survival of the fittest. there were a few neanderthals that had mutations and they had better chances of survival and thus passed on their genes and they had a higher survival rate due to their creativity and thus neanderthals died out leaving Homo Sapiens as the only humans. so in a way hammy is right

Neanderthals under the current mainstream theory of human origin were not superior to humans, hence their extinction after being out-competed for resources by Homo Sapiens. Both Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens filled the same 'niche' and thus, one was destined to be out competed-Source A-level and GCSE units on competition and evolution

Neanderthals had thicker bones able to take harder hits making them better big game hunters.
They had extremely strong legs letting them do amazing burst of speed (For short times)
Their nose was big and fatty turning the cold air warmer then ares could.
Their organs were also slightly bigger allowing for more energy and longer fat burn so cold wouldn't effect them as bad.
They were the better predator in every way.

This was just resonantly found out after dna and fossil samples were taken.
Apparently a large 80% of humans today share 5% of their DNA with neanderthals suggesting there was a massive amount of breeding in between.
Neanderthals had a odd adaption where their body evolved faster then their brain. completely opposite from us who's brain evolves faster then are body. They think this ability may of helped cross breeds get better suited in other lands and a faster pace. So while they are dead, they still live.

Many of those are epigenetic and environmental factors. The rapid evolution was responses to the environment, different parts of their epigenetic markers were methylated causing different genes to be expressed

Im hoping that Im not the only one who watched discovery's (or animal planets) mermaids, the body found and its been messing with me. I only got to see half of it but what I saw and heard sounded legit as it could be. Ill explain more about it but have to hear if you guys got to see the full thing because I couldn't

It wasn't real, they apologised for making the show look real, there's a BBC news story about it because people were ringing the science commission and asking if Mermaids were real
