My lunch was good today. I had four peanut butter cups and a cup of tea. Very delicious.

Peanut butter cups... heard a lot about those things in my life... never had one thus far and as far as I'm concerned never actually will... I kinda detest peanut butter...

Constellation one Rig Move - Part 4

Thursday, 21 June.

Skipped a few days with stories and ramblings, would've been the same old, same old every time, But got something new today.

Yesterday was interesting. A little info about the job that needs to be done, We need to chip out a load of concrete from a odd position on the ris that is poured into a I-beam supporting pipe-structure of the Bow Crane... crap design, cracking and breaking in only 11 years of service and apparently there was repair work done to it already... crap design. After the concrete is out and the excess paint is chipped off with a needlegun, we needed to do inspection and repair any cracks and then finally re-paint the bracket.

Odd thing is that no one corrected me when starting with the primer, I painted it, others continued, everything was going to plan, but after the job, a few days later it turned out that the top coat was applied like s***, you can see straight through it, the edges of the paint is chipping off... seems like nothing is going well. Reason for the defects not even a week after finishing... dirt and shite underneath the primer, I painted straight onto it... never cleaned it. Now everyone had a deal in this, but now the painting supervisor on the rig wont allow us to even look at paint, much less actually paint what-so-ever... Now, I'm thinking, if they say that it's obvious that you need to clean before painting... why didn't they correct me when I started... and the biggest fcukup in this case is I didn't know I was doing something wrong... Anway, we are trying to get our reputation back up by doing absolute shite jobs for the painters... needlegunning and feathering in the "Shaker" room... in the heart of hell itsel... *ahem* I mean the cantilever... the hottest place in the world... or so it would seem if you have coveralls and have to wear goggles, ear muffs and respirator along with your helmet and safety boots, so you can't hear anything, because you have ear plugs and ear muffs on, you can't see anything because if the dust doesn't get through the goggles and burn themselves on your eyes, your goggles are fogging up and ... oh did I mention it felt like 200 degrees in there?? OH! gloves as well... nice and thick to withstand heat from ambient sources... you know... so you can't feel anything either.

Well now, seems like we used up all of the feathering disks (I did to be exact) and there is no more on the rig ... (Smells like bullshit) ... but we soldiered onwards and upwards... we 'finished' the job... kinda, Paint supervisor made it very clear that we were to clean up our mess after tea and then we can have off... but we were not to touch the paint... because for some reason he has this idea that whatever we touch we fcuk up... in the last case it is true, but we know exactly what we did wrong... and do you think we are just going to do it again?? anyway.

Last night last I checked on the watch was 21:44 and I was in bed, lights off and trying to sleep... crappest night in my life, needed to get up at around 06:30 this morning just incase there was any work... got some breakfast... turns out, Nothing to do, BUT... if you ever felt tired beyond recognition, but can't sleep for shite?? Yes, you guessed it... that's me right now, I slept for about 7-7 & a 1/2 hours......... felt more like 7-7 & a 1/2 minutes and I tell you... that just aint enough. Luckily We have the day 'off' today, so no real problems there, I can catch up on some sleep or something... tried to earlier, just laid here... hour went by and some fcuking somebitch came in here asking me about his grinder... DAFUQ are you high on? I didn't know anything about a grinder, and only ones we used someone else has them now, he insisted that I give him his grinder... and honestly the best I could do for the poor bastrad is look at him through eyes that are biased to close than look at him and try and explain to him the best I can to... how do you put this politely?? FCUK OFF... he left after 5 minutes of me telling him I don't understand French and don't know where his grinder was and him telling me he doesn't understand English and that I Do know where his grinder is... Fcuking cockend.

I'm now going to see if I can't get something to eat... and find my adaptor plug so I can charge my laptop and watch CSI Miami like I have begun to do and almost through the first season now... great...

Cheers

Well, although I wrote that almost a month back, but couldn't get on MotiFake due to restrictions on the work PC's... That does have a reason to my insomnia... although it is more "I am on MotiFake, and that is why I can't sleep"

Why is it that time stands still when on a shyt detail?
It get’s tricky, because, yes, you can transfer yer mind to a better place, but shyt jobs are the ones that require just enough attention to detail that you lose concentration of transcendental mind travels….sometimes referred to as daydreaming, or head-in-ass syndrome.
And, yer boss is a half witted mouth breathing troglodyte that just loves to make you look like wunna his relatives.

Had a step and fetch it job down south.
Seems folks from certain parts of, say, Oklahoma, insert a couple dozen marbles in their mouth before conversing.
‘Hey, bowa, git dat toemotah an fetchit ovuh heeah.’

‘Tomato?’

‘TOE-MOTAH!’ pointing to the forklift, and mumbling something about dumbass yankees.

The forklift was manufactured by a company called Tow Motor, of which was emblazoned in huge letters on the back.....OK, he got me.

And the gentleman kept calling me Oscar, so after a couple hours of that, I sauntered over during first break, gently picked his ass off the picnic bench, and with both fists, ran him about 10 feet, tenderly shoving him up against the wall.....lifting him off the floor.

Turns out, one can be quite clear, even when talking through clenched teeth, if one's faces are an inch or two from each other.
‘My name is not Oscar, and if you call me that one more time, I’m gonna shove my right steel toe so far up yer ass you’ll be snacking on my heel….get it???!!’

‘But, son, ah thought that wus yer name on yer jacket there!’

‘Oh’

I’d borrowed a jacket…..from Oscar I s’pose.
So, I let him back down, straightened his shirt, put his cap back on, and dusted him off as he tucked everything back in.
But, hey, he didn’t ever give me any more ‘you a yankee’ shyt.
So it all worked out, and I fetched the toemotah, wherever/whenever he wanted.

Yeah, you gotta pay yer dues, but you gotta stand yer ground too…..it’s a fine line.
