I will probably never own a gun, or ever fire one again, but I would not try to ban them all, or even most of them. I am creeped out by dudes with whole arsenals, though. That alone suggests underlying issues.

That's too simplistic, dude. California has about the same # of people as Canada, and there are more knife murders there, per year, than all types of murders in Canada. And we Canadians also have a lot of guns -- and aircraft carriers, by the way.

My father, who is 86, grew up in a small town in Maine, and they hunted for their food. Very handy through the depression. So I was taught at an early age about gun safety. I hated hunting but it didn't stop him from taking me.

I would have said scary better than irritating... Personally I can't imagine a father teaching his children how to use a firearm, except maybe in the case of hunters. Anyway, 5L for the poster :)
