But the moose was on loan from the RCAF and we'd like to have her back now, thank you very much.
Airman - April 22, 2011, 2:37 pm, #217097

OK, "G", whatta we up to? 3? Let's make it No. 3.

How about picking a rule number for this one Gunny - I have a feelin' there's more out there...
Sean - April 21, 2011, 2:29 pm, #217000
Provided of course that we are talking about a rental.
GySgt1811 - April 21, 2011, 2:03 pm, #216996
As far as rules go...I'm sure Airman would agree, any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.
GySgt1811 - April 21, 2011, 2:01 pm, #216994
...And the point is?
Master - April 21, 2011, 1:59 pm, #216993
This seems to be "a good example of a bad example" of airplane handling. The rule is good, for safety, in real life, but note the beautiful scenery! This is a special Burning Man "art piece"!
Airman - April 21, 2011, 12:50 pm, #216981
think of it as a guideline
Sean - April 21, 2011, 12:16 pm, #216977
I'm not a pilot -- I don't even play one on TV -- so hum, is this s rule or merely a recommendation?
Airman - April 21, 2011, 12:12 pm, #216976
that is a good rule gunny

I played with matches quite a lot back when I was a kid who was forbidden from playing with matches. Now, not so much.
gas - April 21, 2011, 5:57 pm, #217019
But pools are not made to kill people, it's a place where kids are supposed to have fun. Finally I think the best way to prevent accidents is definitely keeping them away from any weapon, the same way you would simply forbid them from touching matches.
Sean - April 21, 2011, 12:08 pm, #216975
But as they point out in Freakanomics, pool safety, for younger kids, at least, is a far greater concern.
gas - April 21, 2011, 11:42 am, #216972
I see your point. In a country where unfortunatly almost anyone can buy a gun, maybe I would be the first to teach my kids gun safety.
Sean - April 21, 2011, 11:12 am, #216970
A lot of overhand punching and feather boa garroting.
Sean - April 21, 2011, 11:10 am, #216968
I will probably never own a gun, or ever fire one again, but I would not try to ban them all, or even most of them. I am creeped out by dudes with whole arsenals, though. That alone suggests underlying issues.
Airman - April 21, 2011, 11:07 am, #216967
what do you expect from Surfers and movie stars?
Sean - April 21, 2011, 11:04 am, #216966
That's too simplistic, dude. California has about the same # of people as Canada, and there are more knife murders there, per year, than all types of murders in Canada. And we Canadians also have a lot of guns -- and aircraft carriers, by the way.
Airman - April 21, 2011, 11:04 am, #216965
My father, who is 86, grew up in a small town in Maine, and they hunted for their food. Very handy through the depression. So I was taught at an early age about gun safety. I hated hunting but it didn't stop him from taking me.
Sean - April 21, 2011, 10:55 am, #216964
But if your kids are likely to be arounds guns no matter what you do or don't own yourself, gun safety training is just responsible parenting.
