I don't know about this one....seems kind if disrespectful to the Vietnam Vets. I decline to vote

I lol'd then I felt guilty. =/ That doesn't happen often. 4 for balls.
pieman - April 6, 2010, 6:03 pm, #170020
I agree rerun. It says that the U.S. was the evil empire in Vietnam to me. Very disrespectful to the vets.
rerun - April 6, 2010, 6:05 pm, #170022
I don't think I could have said that better Pie. I will wait for Mikiee....to explain the meaning...then I may vote on it
DreMagnum - April 6, 2010, 6:16 pm, #170023
I like it actually. Its not saying that America was the evil empire, its just saying everyone thought the rebels were the good guys and the empire bad. Pretty sure I'm taking this way to philosophical, but maybe its just saying, they loved their loss too
MrRandom - April 6, 2010, 6:23 pm, #170026
I just took it as parody >.>
ICEMAN - April 6, 2010, 6:26 pm, #170028
I agree with piedude. The immediate implication is that our Vets were evil. 2L
spacedog - April 6, 2010, 6:38 pm, #170029
Weird. I didn't take it as a judgment on Vietnam or vets. I just don't see Vader, who killed billions in the stories getting weepy over minions. Hello? Darkside calling.
MrRandom - April 6, 2010, 6:42 pm, #170030
But they were the closest people to him. I'm sure generic stormtrooper #3334 was as important to him as #2465
spacedog - April 6, 2010, 6:43 pm, #170031
And the countless droids all had souls too, right?
agdaniele - April 6, 2010, 7:00 pm, #170033
I'll bet that Admiral Ozzel isn't anywhere on that wall.
mikieelmo - April 6, 2010, 7:37 pm, #170048
i took it to mean ,there are to sides to ever story .one countries freedom fighter is another countries terrorist . I have nothing but respect for all solders who have fought for the united states . A solder does what his country asks
rerun - April 6, 2010, 7:39 pm, #170049
Thank you for the clarification.
agdaniele - April 6, 2010, 7:42 pm, #170051
Ozzel? Anyone. Screw you guys.... hewm.
spacedog - April 6, 2010, 7:50 pm, #170053
Was he the one in charge of the ewok planet? That's gotta burn. Over thrown by ewoks.
agdaniele - April 6, 2010, 7:58 pm, #170054
Tsk tsk... not that one.
Airman - April 7, 2010, 7:43 am, #170114
Admiral Ozzel was as clumsy as he was stupid.
Ed-Hyde - April 7, 2010, 9:46 am, #170118
Admiral Ozzel got choked out in Episode 5, The empire strikes back. Go Piett Go!
Ed-Hyde - April 7, 2010, 9:49 am, #170119
I had mixed feelings about this also, but it does give a quiet reminder that even our most hated enemies have loved ones too. Something that is really easy to forget. 5 Letters from Iwo Jima, doesn't make us an evil empire, just reminding us of humanity.

speaking words of wisdom.... let it be.... *sing* ;)

This is late, but sorry America was an evil empire at that time. Remember Agent Orange? Remember carpet bombing? Do you remember invading someones country because their political ideals were different? This is not a reminder of humanity.
